Soon in a theatre near you...

When flying down here, My Own German* and me watch a movie. We're grapping each others' hand when San Francisco appears on screen.

It's not that I have never been in the States. And everytime I deal with the same "déjà vu". A feeling of recognition. A feeling that I have been here before.

And I was. When watching a movie. America is one big film set.

So when I drive into San Francisco, there's no surprise. There's a deep breath. And a smile. As if you come home after a long vacation.

I'm on the set. Ready to play my role. For the next months. Year. Or years.
But from today on, America's film set will be open to the public.
Alice goes West.

I just finished reading the entirety of your blog, in reverse. I've really enjoyed it. I myself am moving to San Francisco soon, and your perspective on the city has made me confident that I will in fact enjoy living there. Thank you!
