I take the bus. On an evening. Don't know yet where I will end up. I just wanted to be out after a day of hard work.
A gay couple next to me tells me to get out in Fillmore Street. For a walk in a street with many restaurants and shops.
So, I walk up and down Fillmore street.
Really up and down.
Hills up.
And hills down.
I have read that San Francisco is the only place in the whole wide world
where they "forgot" to take into account the hills
on their way of building the town.
I have read that it's one of those cities where you hardly see the ocean
even when the city is almost surrounded by water.
But then, yet...
I stand of one of these hills in Fillmore street,
a crossing not different than many others
but get taken by surprise
A view of thousand little lights
shining in the dark
and the smell of the sea
in front of me.
That's life in San Francisco.
