Newspapers worrying people. Taxi drivers complaining about the value of the dollar. Until now, that was about it. My experiences of the American recession.
I didn't see it in the price of the houses. (Excuse-me, a million dollar for a wooden flat?!)
I didn't see it on my bill at the organic supermarket.
And the city still seems to be consumers' heaven.
But this weekend, I discovered a small antique shop.
Guaranteeing his future.
In his own way.
Euros accepted now. And that says it all.
